Have you brought a new corset, and you have done all the necessary rituals to season it, and you are ready to start training your waist? If there is still something due to which you are feeling a sort of discomfort, you must have surely made some mistakes with your corsets.
When you have seasoned your corset pretty well, it should get quite comfortable with you. A seasoned corset is so comfortable that you can easily stay in it throughout the day without any complaints.
But if you are feeling a sense of discomfort, there have to be some mistakes that you may have made.
Here are some of the common mistakes that people make and how to rectify them.
One of the most common mistakes that people make is with the sizing. To get an hourglass figure, many women order a corset with a much smaller waist size than their natural waist size. But you do not realize that when you get such a corset, it either hurts you too much to be in the corset waist size, or it squeezes out some flesh from the edges of the corset. It is not comfortable in either of the cases. Hence, an ideal way is to get a corset that is just 3-4 inches lesser than your actual waist size.
Many women also make mistakes in ordering the right corset type. Do you have trouble or discomfort while sitting or while making some other movement with your corset on? One of the major reasons is that the corset edges must be hurting your hip line. This happens when you have a shorter torso, but you have got a usual corset. In such a case, the corset's edge starts rubbing your undergarment's wiring, which causes you discomfort. For such women who have a shorter torso, the waspie corset is the best option.
If you have gone through the blogs on corsets, you must have known about seasoning the corset. But are you sure that you have seasoned your corset well? Often many women do not season the corset properly in the hurry of getting results.
Do you have a wedding or an event to attend in a month? Hence, you have got a corset to get results and fit in your dress that you have bought?
This is the mistake that the maximum of the people makes.
Seasoning of the corset is a gradual process that takes not days but weeks. You cannot think of tightening the laces too hard on the very first day. Tightening of the laces should come as per your comfort level. It should take a week or 2 for a cotton corset to break. But if it is a corset made up of some other fabric such as satin or brocade, it can also take more than 2 weeks.
The ideal way is to have patience and tighten the laces with each passing day only based on your comfort level. If you are doing this, you will not feel discomfort even if you wear the corset throughout the day.
The Right Way to Wear Corset
Are you sure you are wearing the corset in the right way?
Many women do not know that they are not comfortable in the corset because they are not wearing the corset in the right way.
The corset or the waist training should be around the ribcage and the diaphragm rather than the lungs. But while tightening the laces, the corset may often rise high up on the lungs, which causes difficulties such as breathing trouble.
The best way to avoid this is to grab the corset edges at the bottom tightly when someone is tightening the laces at your back.
Wearing the corset does not mean that you need to punish yourself. Many people start feeling nauseatic or even feel like fainting because they take corsets too seriously over their health. Now when something wrong happens, the blame is always on the corset.
While you are waist training, there are some important things that you need to always follow so that you do not feel uncomfortable wearing them. One of the most important things is to take deep breathes from time to time. A corset may not allow you to fill in air in your diaphragm and lungs naturally. Though you are breathing, you should try to take some deep breathes from time to time. It is always a great idea to loosen your laces for a few minutes to take a break in between.
